Based on the inspection campaigns carried out by the Public Authority for the Environment, a team from the Public Authority for the Environment conducted a campaign on a number of cafes in Hawalli Governorate, to ensure the implementation of Article 56 of the Environmental Protection Law, “Smoking is prohibited in closed and semi-closed public places, except in places designated for that in accordance with the requirements.” and the controls specified by the executive regulations of this law.” Four fines were issued for smokers inside cafes.
